QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS FOR CARE DEPENDENCY GRANT

Must be a South Africa citizen except for a foster parent
The applicant and the child must be resident in South Africa
The age of the child must be between 1 and 18 years
Must submit a medical assessment report confirming disability
Applicant, spouse and child must meet the requirements of the means test
The care-dependent child or children must not be permanently cared for in a state institution
13 digit bar coded ID document (applicant)
13 digit bar coded ID document (child) or birth certificate reflecting 13 digit identity number

Note: The income of foster parents will not be taken into consideration
